gang Id/REcognition Course
Dr. Bel Pedroza instructs the Gang ID/Recognition Course to assist the uniformed patrol officer, criminal/intelligence analyst, or detective/investigator with identification and/or recognition of street, hybrid, prison, and outlaw motorcycle gangs/gang members. Dr. Pedroza details the history and organization of gangs, legal definitions, gang identifiers (colors, symbols, hand signs, graffiti, etc.), criminal activities, documentation, and officer safety.
The goal of this course is to gather a better understanding of the origins and methods of operation of the most encountered street, hybrid, prison, and outlaw motorcycle gangs throughout the country. Dr. Pedroza’s course will assist in facilitating the identification, investigation, and prosecution of these gang members.
Prerequisites
*Law Enforcement/Crime Analyst who are looking to improve their knowledge in gang id/recognition to assist in improving their everyday enforcement and investigations.
Schedule
*The schedule for this course is one day- 8 hour with powerpoint presentations and hands-on application/scenarios.
*Eight (8) TCOLE hours will be reported by TNOA (Texas Narcotic Officer's Association)
